Our Early Learning Centre

Our purpose built Early Learning Centre situated in Brown Hill has been thoughtfully designed to cater for the various age groups and programs within our service delivery, using natural colours, cultural elements and pops of artwork to provoke interest and thought.

Our outdoor environment has been designed by the Ballarat & District Aboriginal Co-operative maintenance team, incorporating natural elements, curves, a yarning circle, dry river bed, water station and a sand pit that is framed with boulders, decking seated area and an array of native plants and paths to navigate.  Our yard will embrace further cultural considerations with the ongoing journey of creating a bush tucker garden and story line poles with Bunjil the Creator overseeing the children in the beautifully landscaped yard where they will have lots to explore and learn.

Our indoor learning areas are designed for each specific age group whom will be grouped together dependent upon age.  We provide education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years within our rich learning environments that will provide each child with everything they need to have a successful learning journey into formal school engagement.  Each rooms learning environment will be designed to provide small personalised pockets of discovery that supports all developmental areas of learning, treating our educational environment as the third teacher, helping to shape the minds of curious learners.

"As a non-indigenous family that attends Perridak, I have always appreciated and welcomed the embedding of Aboriginal perspectives in the room programs, and the addition of the Aboriginal 8 Ways of Learning to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, knowing that my child is going to develop a greater sense of connection to country as well as hopefully becoming a strong ally within their community."
