Government Approved Kindergarten

We’re displaying the Kinder Tick to show we’re an approved provider of a Victorian Government funded and approved kindergarten program. That means our service delivers a play-based learning program, led by a qualified early childhood teacher.

The Kinder Tick shows we meet criteria in the funding guidelines set out by the Victorian Government - which means you can have confidence your child’s learning and development will be supported by qualified early childhood teachers and educators through a responsive, evidence-based learning program.

Perridak Burron is proud to display the Kinder Tick.

When families see the Kinder Tick, they can be confident:

the program will be led by a qualified early childhood teacher

children will benefit from play-based learning

the kindergarten program is funded and approved by the Victorian Government

the program meets government guidelines and complies with the National Quality Framework.

At Perridak Burron we endeavour to support and guide your child's journey through the vital years of early childhood learning through to a successful transition into formal schooling. Our kindergarten curriculum Is designed to support your childs learning through the Implementation of the Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework (VEYLDF) with the added support from the Aboriginal 8 Ways of Learning (A8WOL), delivered and facilitated by our Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Kindergarten Teachers. Please see our 'Educational Programs' page for more Information.

There are eligibility requirements set out by the Department of Education and Training.  We offer both 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs. Families with children born between January and April can choose which year to start at Three-Year-Old Kinder. These children can start in the same year they turn three, or in the year they turn four years of age. Due to staffing requirements, children can only commence in our 3-year-old room once they have turned 3.

If your child turns six in late December (between the last day of the school year and 31 December), they can attend Four-Year-Old Kindergarten in that year and attend school the following year.

Eligible children must attend a minimum of 5 hours per week for 3 year old kindergarten, and 15 hours per week for 4 year old kindergarten. Our program allows flexibility of attendance so you are able to choose the days on which your child attends. As our kindergarten programs are integrated with long day care hours, you are able to drop off and pick up at times to suit your family’s needs.

When your child starts at kindergarten directly relates to the age they will start at primary school. Please speak to us about the best time for your child to start at Three-Year-Old Kinder.

"The use of local artwork in the centre brightens each drop off and pick up, and I love seeing the natural furniture, resources and amazing outdoor play spaces that are on offer...the continued use of language in the centre and in communications to families is also fantastic, and I often find myself learning and wanting to learn more, it's not just the kids you are educating!"
